February 20th, 2018 - Parametric modeler

Hi there, since I haven't posted any update on the whereabouts of my upcoming faceting software, GemSuite, here's a sneak peak into where it's at right now : I'm implementing parametric modeling. The screenshots I previously posted here in December showed the scanning procedure of a faceting rough, well here is the designing itself - a tiny view on it. So far we have:

- a fully tested and working underlying infrastructure (this is like Photoshop for the faceter actually, it's modular and updateable on-the-fly once you have installed the main program) that will run on any computer

--> supports Windows XP up to at least 10, MacOS 10.4 up to at least 10.13, any Linux flavor (but we don't have webcam support for the scaning on 'nuxes, alas).

As for the Modeler itself:

- automatic symmetry (with added or removed facets from the symmetry) for fast tier placement, starting at any index position (not like miror),

- standard metrics and volume design computation

--> with actual yield computation for scanned rough (very important)

- and parametric modeling that I'm painfully implementing these days.

I'm trying not to flood the different groups I'm invited into (thanks again!) with too many updates about this, so don't hesitate to chime in, I post a lot more often on my own wall. Thanks again for your interest :)
