August 19th, 2020 - More gem scanner parts

More parts for the gem scanners have arrived while we were away! Most awaited is the box for the portable gem scanner for face-to-face evaluation of recut strategy with clients. This is the size I will make that line of scanners.

The hardware received these last 30 days while we were away.

The ESP32-CAM module is all the rage these days among the makers' community, I wonder wether it has enough available output pins to be used as a single microcontroller solution for the portable gem scanners or not ÿ>ð

Yeah the listing said « used, removed from working equipment ». The price was good and they¹re quite compact, so I gave them a try. With a little elbow grease and a quick check-up these might be a good solution for the translation axis (insert/eject) of the portable gem scanners.

This blower was an unconvinced buy (too big for the job?), but I just tested it and it will definitely be the best candidate for itq intended purpose. This one will be used in the « big » gem scanner for light source cooling

These little motors (brand new) are meant for several things, both in the big and portable gem scanners, mainly axis translation (with an external reduction). The price was great too.
