September 21th, 2020 - yet more gem scanner parts

More hardware for the gem scanners showed up these last days : wires and connectors for the stepper motors, M0.5 screw gears for the sliding mechanisms, and an über-cute little turquoise pouch with nice drawings... yeah the Chinese know how to add a little sexyness to the otherwise manly, greasy gear cutters! ^^ I came to the conclusion that I will need to produce one of the gear models I need for the "big" gem scanner. Some of you might remember the video I posted back in December ë19, with a tiiiny stepper motor turning a big, 120-toothed gear, well these arenít big enough for the polarizers of the future big scanner, so... No matter how hard you try, sometimes there's no "off the shelf" part that fits the bill. Maybe Iíll outsource the production of these, but for now I have the proper tool to make them myself if needed.
